How to nominate
Nominations for the Scottish Education Awards 2023 have now closed.
There are eleven categories within the Scottish Education Awards.
You can nominate in more than one category however you must complete an entry form for each category you wish to nominate in.
Please read through the category descriptions and select the category you wish to nominate in from the list. Please provide as much information as you can, the more details you can provide the judges with the better understanding they can have of their achievements.
- Your entry must be completed before the deadline at 23:59 on Friday 24th February.
- An individual/team/group/organisation can be nominated into more than one category however please tailor your entry according to the category in order to meet judges requirements.
- Event partners are not permitted to enter the category they are sponsoring.
- Nominations can be submitted by the individual/team/group/organisation directly or by a third party (agent, client etc).
- Successful nominations will be notified following the judging period.
Judging of the Scottish Education Awards is conducted by a panel selected by Education Scotland. The information provided will be collated and followed by a shortlisting by our panel.

Community Learning and Development Award
An award for individuals and organisations who have led efforts in community learning and development - community-based work that helps adult and young learners and reach their potential.
Curriculum Innovation Award
This award will recognise schools and learning centres that
have developed innovative and unique curriculums - bringing a fresh approach to
learning that enhances the experience for all their students.
Digital Innovator of the Year
The Digital Innovator category is for educators who have
recognised the incredible impact technology can have on learning - and used it
to enhance education for students and teachers alike.
Gaelic Education Award
The Gaelic Education category is dedicated to education
settings which foster a culture of respect, ambition and achievement with
regard to Gaelic - and help promote the flourishing of the Gaelic language.

Headteacher of the Year Award
This category is for headteachers who have displayed excellent
leadership - and dedicated themselves to creating a learning environment in
which teachers and students alike can achieve their best.

Lifetime Achievement Award
This award is for any individual in the world of education who
has made a real difference through their career - achieving great things for
themselves, while inspiring and enriching education for others.
Making a Difference Award (Early Learning and Childcare/ELC)
This award celebrates an early learning or childcare
establishment that has committed to transforming the lives of learners -
overcoming obstacles to nurture equality, achievement and wellbeing.
Making a Difference Award (Primary)
This award celebrates a primary education establishment that
has committed to transforming the lives of learners - overcoming obstacles to
nurture equality, achievement and wellbeing.
Making a Difference Award (Secondary)
This award celebrates a secondary education establishment that
has committed to transforming the lives of learners - overcoming obstacles to
nurture equality, achievement and wellbeing.

Parent and Family Engagement Award
This award recognises work that gets parents involved in
learning and school life, and helps them support their child's education - in
early learning, childcare, schooling and other settings.

Teacher of the Year
Teacher of the Year recognises a teacher who truly brings
learning to life - creating a learning environment in which all students can
flourish, and inspiring them to reach their full potential.
